We visited the San Diego temple...but the grounds were closed for cleaning :( We still got some nice lds gifts from the bookstore.

We took the tram to Old Town San Diego and walked through the pioneer village
After the museum tour, the kids got to pan for gold. There were actually real pieces of pyrite to find, and Lydia kept them in her pocket for the whole trip.
After visiting Old Town, I was ready to head for Coronado... but Josh talked us in to a San Diego Padres baseball game. The girls had a blast...especially because daddy spoiled them with souvenirs and cotton candy. Plus, being at an American baseball game is just plain fun.
We spent the evening on Coronado Island. Coronado beach is consistently rated as one of the best beaches in the US. Soft white sand, huge beach, and great resort.
We spent a full day at the San Diego Zoo... best in the world. Its huge, but we were fortunate enough to get there early and take a bus tour of the entire zoo, then went back to see our favorites later.
Daddy took the big girls to tour the USS Midway aircraft carrier.
We also went to La Jolla, to spot the seals and swim in the cove.
We actually had a lot of beach time too... just without a camera. We played at Ocean Beach and Mission Beach, digging for sandcrabs and flying kites, and getting sand stuck in every place imaginable!
San Diego was awesome - probably my favorite city in Cali. Great beaches, great weather all year, a clean downtown, and lots of laid-back Californians :)

Your girls look sooo big. Cassie you look soooo tan. Must be nice after so many Scottish summers. BTW this Scottish summer was just like all the others! Miss you all.
We luv your pics ... looks like you were all having so much fun Pat xxx
Awesome! I wish my family would have a reunion somewhere cool so we could see family and not have to always go to the same place. We've been trying to talk them into it for two years. That beach was so pretty. I want to go there!
