Bear Lake - Rumsey Reunion

We spent our Rumsey family reunion at Bear Lake this summer. My grandma found some awesome condos for us to stay in on the west side of the lake, and we spent nearly every day boating at the lake or playing family games at the condos.
Here's our family... well about 3/4 of it. Still missing Phil & Cindy's family and Arlen & Sue's family. Our Rumsey clan is still young - only three of my cousins are married with kids, so our family will continue to grow!

My immediate family...minus Darren, Devin & Courtney. The men are sure outnumbered!

Every evening ALL of us would have dinner together at G&G's condo, then play games or just chat afterwards. One evening we did our tie-dye shirts, one evening we flew kites, did bubbles, and nearly every night someone was playing badminton.

My mom helping Lydia make a necklace. This was our "beading night"
Lydia called grandpa her "great great great grandpa". She has so many grandpa's, that's just how she wanted to name him.

The little girls loved to pick on grandpa. Here he is warning them not to eat too many sweets or their teeth will fall out. Then he took out his teeth!

By far, our favorite thing to do was play at the lake. The north shore had a really nice family-friendly beach, and the water was shallow enough for the kids to play in.

Little princesses.. Claire, Lydia, Madison and Lyla enjoying lunch
Lydia and Madison liked to ride on the jet-ski, but Claire mostly wanted to ride in Uncle Jim's boat and "watch people fall"
Josh and I, and beautiful water

Scarlett played hard and slept hard.

One day we took a break from the sun to explore the Minnetonka Cave with Eric's family. The caves were beautiful and other-worldly, and even the drive up the mountain to get there was gorgeous.

My favorite memories from that week:
- Having breakfast on the balcony with my family, and a great view
- Getting the famous Raspberry Shakes after a long day at the lake
- Watching Josh and Lydia go tubing together. Lydia was all giggles.
- Taking Claire out on the jet-ski
- Seeing my kids love on their great-grandparents and my cousins, even though they hardly know them. That's the great part about family. You just love them.
